PROJECT EXECUTION
Coordinated Improvements Across an Active Federal Facility
CIMCO’s work at FCI Ashland involved multiple mechanical and energy-efficiency upgrades across the institution and Federal Prison Camp. The scope required coordination of new equipment with existing building systems, utilities and operational infrastructure throughout the correctional complex.
The project included boiler replacement, cooling-system consolidation, rooftop HVAC replacement, infrared heating, kitchen make-up air and significant laundry water- and thermal-recovery improvements. Siemens retained responsibility for the HVAC controls portion of the project.
Improving Energy Performance Across the Facility
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
The FCI Ashland project was developed as an Energy Savings Performance Contract, with improvements targeted at reducing energy consumption and improving the efficiency of existing building systems throughout the institution and Federal Prison Camp.
CIMCO’s work included laundry water-recycling and thermal-recovery improvements along with heating, cooling and ventilation upgrades designed to reduce operating demands while working within the constraints of existing federal facilities.
The laundry scope included water-recycling and thermal-recovery upgrades at both the institution and Federal Prison Camp, complementing the broader mechanical improvements across the complex.
