PROJECT OVERVIEW
Mechanical Systems for a Specialized Engineering Laboratory
Completed in 2008, the Arthur Weisberg Family Engineering Laboratory provided Marshall University’s growing engineering program with approximately 16,000 square feet of dedicated laboratory, classroom, faculty and support space in Huntington, West Virginia.
CIMCO provided mechanical and laboratory systems work for the new facility, supporting specialized teaching and research spaces designed for materials, soils, hydraulics, structural and environmental engineering studies.

MECHANICAL SCOPE
Mechanical Systems for Specialized Laboratory Spaces
CIMCO provided mechanical systems work for the new engineering laboratory, supporting the specialized teaching and research spaces within the facility.
The building’s open laboratory environment required mechanical systems to be carefully coordinated with the exposed structure and flexible instructional spaces. Visible ductwork and overhead distribution were integrated throughout the facility to serve the laboratory and support areas.
Supporting Specialized Engineering & Research Spaces
LABORATORY SYSTEMS
CIMCO’s work supported the specialized mechanical requirements of the engineering laboratory, where building systems had to serve a variety of instructional and research environments.
The mechanical infrastructure was coordinated with the facility’s open design and exposed structure, providing functional systems while maintaining flexibility for the laboratory spaces and equipment.
